OUTDOORS | ONETIGRIS CAMPING ROCK FORTRESS HOT TENT!

Hey team, welcome back to the blog!

I know it’s been a while - life has been heavy over the last 18 months, but we’re back. In this blog post, I’m going to be talking about the tent that got us through our charity canoeing/wild camping trip along the Great Glen Canoe Trail in Scotland.

For my charity trip, OneTigris Camping very kindly provided us with some camping gear to keep us warm and comfortable along the way and this included the OneTigris Rock Fortress Hot Tent.

The OneTigris Rock Fortress Hot Tent is a spacious, four-season tipi-style shelter with a stove jack designed for comfort even during winter, but at an affordable price point.

First, let’s chat about the design and build! The Rock Fortress’s decagonal (10-sided) tipi shape gives it a classic hot tent look. It has a 3.8m diameter and a peak of 2.4cm, so there’s plenty of headroom for someone like myself who is 164cm (or 5”4 in imperial). My partner who stands at 182cm (or 5”11) found the headroom wasn’t quite enough for him to stand up in the tent comfortably.

It’s made from 70D silicone-coated nylon that has a 3000 mm waterproof rating, so it’s made to hold up in heavy rain and works as a four-season shelter. The included stove jacket opening meant we could also run our wood stove which made the nights cosy.

Next up, let’s chat setup and practical use. One thing I’ve seen other reviewers consistently mention is how straightforward it is to set up and I would mostly agree with this! It has a single-pole design that simplifies pitching and takedown. The only caveat I would add to this, is that it is straightforward to set up as long as the ground is completely flat, and I know what you’re thinking “who is setting up a tent on uneven ground?!” right but during our trip, on our first night we had to spend a night on a rocky beach on the side of Loch Lochy and the set-up was hindered by the fact we couldn’t make a level base. However, when we set it up on a flat grassy area on the shore of Loch Oich it was an easy set-up.

Once pitched, the tent feels spacious and that makes it pretty versatile. It’s advertised as a 4-6 person tent, though after spending a few nights in it, I would definitely say it’s more comfortable for two (potentially three adults) with gear, especially if you’re running the stove inside. This tent was also slightly too big for a few of the campsites along the Great Glen Canoe Trail as some of the shorelines are quite narrow but we just took this into account when choosing our campsites.

There’s no inner tent included, so you’ll need to consider a groundsheet for extra protection against ground moisture if you’re not using a stove regularly. We were kindly gifted the inner mesh tent (the mesh inner tent 04) and whilst this did take up a fair bit of space inside, it did keep bugs out and gave us a good base where we slept.

The pros:
Weather resistance: Whilst on Loch Oich we had a LOT of rain and the tent held up beautifully.
Warmth with stove: The stove jack is a standout feature for cold-weather camping, keeping the interior warm and comfortable.
Easy setup: The simple tipi design makes pitching straightforward.
Worth the price: Much more affordable than other options.

Cons:
Size reality: Although marketed for up to six people, with the stove and inner tent AND kit, this would realistically fit 2-3 people.
Needs a good pitch: Pitching is straightforward on ideal ground but uneven ground makes it way more difficult
Initial smell: There is a noticeable “chemical” smell out of the bag but it did fade during use.

Camped on the uneven shore of Loch Lochy

So what are my final thoughts? If you’re after a feature-packed hot tent without breaking the bank, the OneTigris Rock Fortress is hard to overlook. It’s spacious, capable in four seasons, and genuinely enjoyable with a stove inside. Although it may not match premium brands in every detail, and its advertised capacity is a bit optimistic - it’s a compelling choice and excellent value overall for casual campers, hunting trips, or winter adventures on a budget. The OneTigris Rock Fortress Hot Tent retails for $289.99 and the Mesh Inner Tent 04 retails for $123.50.

Thank you so much to
for supplying us with this kit for our charity canoe trip!

SET-UP | MULTICAM RUSH 2.0 CARRIER SET-UP!

 Hey friends!

Welcome back to the blog! Today we'll be looking at my latest MultiCam plate carrier set-up!

For the base, I'm using the 'Rush 2.0 Plate Carrier Tactical Vest' by Primal Gear from Gunfire.com. The Rush 2.0 Plate Carrier is designed to be a light and durable utilitarian piece of kit for airsofters. It's constructed from Cordura 500D which is more than enough for battle on the airsoft field. The vest is able to carry M SAPI ballistic inserts, as this is for airsoft, I'm using FMA SAPI M Ballistic Plate Replica (also from Gunfire) which gives me more protection and keeps the shape of the carrier. The front and back vest panels, as well as the detachable cummerbund, are covered with MOLLE / PALS webbing that allows you to expand the carrying capacity of the vest with various pouches. On the back there is a zipper so you can attach dedicated Rush 2.0 panels and backpacks (more on that later!)

Other features of the carrier include: a drag handle, concealed tabs for the attachment of panels and placards, a flat pocket with an organiser on the chest, padded shoulders for added comfort and large loop velcro space at the front of the carrier for patches! My full review on this plate carrier is coming soon so keep your eyes peeled!

For the front panel I have the OneTigris Placard 01 (OneTigris Chest Rig/Vest Add-on Triple Mag Pouch with Utility Pouch) in MultiCam! The Placard 01 has the capacity to carry three 5.56 magazines (however I did manage to fit some AK mags in as well!) and 2 pistol mags. The 5.56 pouches have adjustable shock cord retainers plus webbing pull tabs to keep the mags secure even when you're prone and the pistol mag pouches have velcro flaps to keep them secure. It also features a utility pouch at the front with an adjustable hook-and-loop divider inside so it can be customised to the users spec. I secured this to my Rush 2.0 carrier via the hook velcro at the back and the buckles at the top of the panel.

For the back panel, I'm using the Tactical Backpack for Rush 2.0 Tactical Vest from Primal Gear also from Gunfire.com. Now, hear me out! This backpack is quite large but, it has a lot of space and in turn a large carrying capacity which is fab for longer ops or when you play sites that run longer than average games. It is a dedicated backpack for Rush 2.0 Plate and it zips onto the back of the vest - super simple. This backpack enables the end user to carry additional equipment including extra ammo or a hydration bladder for hydration on the field. It has a vertical zipper giving you quick access to contents of the backpack, additional mesh pockets inside the main compartment to keep everything organised and separate, a flap with a pocket to keep small accessories accessories safe and a grommet at the bottom for drainage.

FACE PROTECTION | DIVISION SIX X ONETIGRIS T'FARGE COMFORT MASK!

Hey friends!

Welcome back to the blog! You may have seen from my social media that I’ve once again teamed up with OneTigris to bring you some more content on their gear. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the brand, OTG was established in 2014 and they are a China-based gear manufacturer who manufactures outdoor, airsoft, EDC and K9 kit that’s great quality and is affordable.

I first became aware of OTG in 2017 when they released the 4.5” Tactical Foldable Half Face Mask - they were one of the first companies to manufacture face protection specifically for women, teenagers and Asian players. The original design for this mask was 6” from the bridge of the nose to the tip of the chin - for the women’s version they shaved 1.5” off to make the mask more comfortable for players with a smaller face. This mask became my ‘go-to’ face protection purely because it was so comfortable and fit well.

Then they released the Small T’Farge Comfort Mask with the gas seal in 2019 as OTG secured the license to make their version of the T’Farge Comfort Mask by Division SIX. Division SIX is a one-man band from the UK who designs and makes face protection for airsoft. Nikira’s designs are unique and developed through his own experiences with face protection. Each of his masks are made by hand but with this comes a higher price tag. This is where OTG come in, by taking on the license for this mask they have made the mask more accessible for the player. The OTG licensed Division SIX T’Farge Comfort Mask is a half-face mask that has padded sides and a TPU polymer bridge to protect the nose. It isn’t exactly the same as the Division SIX mask as it has slight modifications including thicker padding on the sides and it’s also smaller to cater to Asian, female and teenage players. OTG claim it offers a better fit and an excellent fog-free airsoft.

Fast forward to 2020 (what a year it’s been) and they’ve released the 6.2” T’Farge Comfort Mask which is also licensed by Division SIX and is closer to the original mask! Over the last month or so I’ve been wearing this mask for my post-lockdown airsoft games and here’s my review!

The fabric it’s made of is the same as the 2019 version of the mask and is 1000D nylon (for the black and green versions) and 500D Cordura (for the MultiCam version) and this is for durability as it offers great dirt, water and abrasion resistance. On the inside of the fabric is the padded mesh breathability lining for player comfort. What makes it different however to the 2019 mask is that this layer of padded mesh is much thinner and more akin to the original Division SIX mask.

The TPU material that covers the bridge of the nose has been tested to 380 FPS which is more than enough for UK limits. The cut-outs allow for breathability. It has adjustable double head straps for comfort and to prevent the mask from slipping while in use. It’s also a super light-weight piece of kit, weighing in at only 90g and it folds up small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space in your gear bag and is easy to carry around.

So, how does it fit? This is the standard size which means it is the 6” version of the mask. The mask is easy to adjust to your face using the straps and also comes with helmet attachments. The 6” version isn’t as good a fit for me as the 4.5” inch mask but it’s not uncomfortable - it’s just a bit longer on the chin for me so when I lower my head it does press against my neck enough for me to be aware of it. If you’re a male player, this would definitely be a great fit for you. If you’re a teenager or female player, this mask here will be a more snug fit for you as the 2019 version is no longer available.

In terms of fogging, because this isn’t a perfect fit for MY face and doesn’t have the seal like the 2019 mask I did have some fogging issues whilst I was playing. These were quickly solved with some Revision anti-fog, I think if the mask fit your face more snugly, this would be less of an issue but it isn’t one that anti-fog can’t fix.

The 6.2" T'Farge Comfort Mask is available from the OTG website in Multicam, Multicam Black, Black, OD and Tan. Prices start at $23.98 (which is around £19 at the current exchange rate).

Overall, I think 6" T'Farge Comfort Mask from One Tigris is an affordable, well-made and comfortable face mask that has a great look to it but it’s not quite the right fit if you are a female player that’s on the smaller side. This design of the mask, in particular, would be really well suited to male players.

GEAR | ONETIGRIS GRIFFIN AFPC!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have another review for you, and today we're looking at the GRIFFIN AFPC from OneTigris

After using the OneTigris collection of face protection over the last couple of years and being impressed with the comfort and quality, I started to wonder about the rest of their gear collection and how it compares. This is where the GRIFFIN AFPC Airsoft Vest comes in!

The GRIFFIN is one of the signature vests from OneTigris that is made from durable 500D Cordura and UTX buckles giving it dirt/water/abrasion resistance making it a perfect choice for airsoft. It offers quick-release, reinforced and padded shoulder strap functionality, detachable breathability padding, and it can also be used with chest rigs via the removable front MOLLE flap with 1” buckles. It weighs in at just 1.3kg making it a super lightweight piece of gear. It also has a 6.5” wide cummerbund to protect your sides and these have hidden hook and loop utility pockets.

There are four pieces of detachable breathability padding in the GRIFFIN for good airflow during gameplay. The design is completely adjustable to fit players of different sizes with adjustable shoulder straps (12”-17”) and adjustable upper waist sizes from 36” to 48”. It has 360 degrees MOLLE for all pouches etc. The GRIFFIN also has a 10” by 12” EVA plate included in the package. Another feature is that it has 3” by 6” patch panels at the front and back for airsofters beloved patches (it also comes with an OTG red PVC patch too!)

The GRIFFIN is easy to adjust so it didn’t take long to get it skirmish ready, once fully adjusted it does fit well. On the first use I did find the foam plates to be a little stiff and bulky but the more I’ve used the vest, the more they have softened with the heat of my body during play. I’ve found this with a lot of tactical vests and plate carriers that come with foam plates. One positive for the foam plates is that any hits to the carrier sound super distinct meaning its easier to hear when you’ve been shot if you didn’t feel it. The all-round MOLLE means it is a super versatile piece of kit and has plenty of room for any pouches needed. As I ran this with my belt kit, I just accessorised mine with a triple mag pouch. It is worth noting that if you have the VULTURE chest rig and TREX pack, it is also compatible with these!

One of the issues I found with my GRIFFIN AFPC, is that the front flap’s MultiCam pattern didn’t sit right with the rest of the pattern on the vest - almost as if it had been flipped. This, I suspect is because OTG is utilising all the fabric they possibly can for each vest - which makes sense as MC fabric is expensive. As the flap is detachable or covered with pouches its more of a non-issue. I’ve fed this back to OTG and they are aware of this.

At the moment, the GRIFFIN AFPC is only available in MultiCam. Which is a bit limiting in terms of loadout potential so I would love to see this vest in other colourways such as MultiCam Black, MultiCam Tropic and Ranger Green. Offering this plate carrier in more colourways would definitely make it more appealing to airsofters. It retails for $121.99 which is around £97 at the current exchange rate (be aware this could have changed by the time this has gone to print). The price is on par with other brands of the same quality.

Overall, I think 1TG have done a really great job with the GRIFFIN plate carrier - despite the design flaw in the removable flap, but like I said it is removable and you can cover it with pouches so it isn’t a big issue. The size allows for adjustment so it is inclusive, it is versatile and can be used with other 1TG products such as the VULTURE (it could also possibly be used with other brands but I’ve not had the chance to try it yet). It is also lightweight and comfortable without sacrificing quality. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see this come out in other colours too! Keep up the great work 1TG!

AIRSOFT ACTION | ONETIGRIS T'FARGE COMFORT MASK

Over the last few months, I’ve been testing some new kit from a company called One Tigris. OTG was created in 2014 and they are a China-based gear manufacturer who manufactures outdoor, airsoft, EDC and K9 kit that’s great quality and is really affordable. I first became aware of OTG in 2017 when the OTG 4.5” Tactical Foldable Half Face Mask was released - they were one of the first companies to manufacture face protection specifically for women, teenagers and Asian players. The original design for this mask was 6” from the bridge of the nose to the tip of the chin - for the women’s version they shaved 1.5” off to make the mask more comfortable for players with a smaller face. This mask became my ‘go-to’ face protection purely because it was so comfortable and fit well.

Fast forward to 2018 and One Tigris secured the license to make their own version of the T’Farge Comfort Mask by Division SIX. OTG claim it offers a better fit and an excellent fog-free airsoft experience than other masks on the market, but does it do what is claimed?

The TPU material that covers the bridge of the nose has been tested to 800FPS impact resistance (tested between -10 degrees C and 42 degrees C), it also allows for breathability thanks to the cutouts and it has a rubber seal on the inside of the mask to keep players goggles clear. The fabric used is nylon (for the black and green versions) and 500D Cordura (for the MultiCam version) and this is for durability as it offers great dirt, water and abrasion resistance. On the inside of the fabric is the padded mesh breathability lining for player comfort. It has adjustable double head straps for comfort and to prevent the mask from slipping. It’s also a super light-weight piece of kit, weighing in at only 100g and it folds up small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space in your gear bag and is easy to carry around.

Upon receiving the mask it comes neatly packaged in a resealable clear/textile bag with a tag to let you know that it is a licensed product. The construction materials feel of great quality and the stitching is neat/tidy, the overall construction of the mask is very good. Aesthetically, I think it looks great as well. The ladies size is very much appreciated as well.

I have been wearing this mask for around 4 months now and I’ve found that the padded sides are super comfortable, but one thing I have noticed with the ladies cut is as it cuts away from the jawline quite sharply it doesn’t completely protect the very bottom of your cheeks - but this isn’t an area that for me gets hit a lot so it’s not too much of an issue as the covers a lot of the face. The mask is built for player comfort. and the only aspect I found uncomfortable about the mask was the fact the double strap has two buckles that can rub on your ears when wearing ear protection, this wouldn’t be an issue if you don’t wear ear protection but I always wear it so it can be a little uncomfortable during prolonged wear.

The back straps comfortable and doesn’t bunch up during wear which is great (especially when wearing helmets). The front slots in the TPU for breathability are sufficient and whilst I’ve been wearing it I haven’t noticed any issues. When it is really hot (temps of 27 and above for me personally) I have found it can be a little too warm so I wear it a little looser so I can take it away from my mouth every so often but this means the gas seal won’t work to its optimum efficiency. The gas seal on the inside works great to prevent fogging, but be sure to fit it snugly to your face as the seal needs to be secure and completely seal to the face. If it’s loose it can fog.

It’s available in MultiCam, Green and black. It retails for $17.99 from the OTG website, which is around £15. For the time being it is only available in the F size, with the L size for male players on the way soon. I would love to see this mask made in a few other camouflage patterns and colourways - maybe MultiCam Tropic, MultiCam black and grey? *hopes*

Overall, this product from One Tigris is an affordable, well made and comfortable face mask that has a great look to it. I love that OTG has made it their mission to make this product more affordable for the end consumer.
