AEG | KWA AIRSOFT MIDNIGHT MINT EVE-9!

Hey team!
Welcome back to the blog.

In this first impressions review, we're going to be taking a look at the KWA KO:EVE-9 AEG, the longer of the KO EVE line from my friends over at BZ Tactical. The EVE-9 is meant to rival the T10, just without the kickback of KWA's recoil system, and it's a nod back to their original Ronin 10 SBR.

So let’s chat about the build. The KWA EVE-9 has a high-strength polymer receiver set and M-LOK handguard making it light and balanced. It has a side charging handle that makes hop-up adjustment nice and convenient, and the integrated ergonomic pistol grip gives the user a comfy hold on the replica. It comes with KO's new slim line vertical grip and the PTS stock (which is a big slay). Rounding out the externals are PTS Enhanced Polymer flip-up sights, a two-port KWA SOCOM muzzle brake, the K.O.R.E 9 rail, ambidextrous fire controls, and optional quick detach sockets front and rear.

Internally, the KO:EVE-9 shares the same 2.5+ VPS gearbox as the TK.45C, Ronin T6, QRF Mod Series and Ronin 47, paired with a KWA high torque motor. It's also electronic trigger ready, so you can drop in your favourite aftermarket electronic trigger group

Now you know I’m a hoe for nice packaging and the KWA Originals range come in a sleek, black branded box. On removing the replica from the box you get a feel for just how lightweight it is thanks to its polymer construction but the material doesn’t feel cheap and it feels sturdy - no wobbles, or rattles - always a good sign! The midnight mint colour is really striking teal colour and reminds me of those gorgeous Tiffany’s jewellery boxes! The colour co-ordinated mag sets the replica off perfectly. As it has the PTS stock, it was easy to battery up and had plenty of room. It works just like any other M4 so if you are familiar with the platform anyway you’ll be well away.

So how does it shoot? It was consistent on both semi and full-auto - and I was pleasantly surprised. It sounds great and is really fun to shoot. It chrono’d at 339 FPS (but this of course can be adjusted) with a rate of fire of 18. It is comfortable to shoulder and easy to manipulate because of its size and I think it would be comfortable to use all day as it’s really lightweight.

In the box, you get the Midnight Mint EVE-9 AEG, a colour co-ordinated KWA magazine, an instruction manual, PTS EBUIS, KWA Front Grip and the VPS tool.

So what’s my verdict? The KWA Midnight Mint EVE-9, whilst not for the MilSim crowd, is a solid choice for players who want a lightweight, easy to manipulate replica that is a bit of a show stopper. If you’re looking for something a bit different, that performs beautifully, definitely give this a try! From BZ Tactical, it retails for £264.95, you can use my discount code FF5 for 5% off!
