HPA | WOLVERINE AIRSOFT X GENESIS ARMS GEN-12 MTW SBS!

In this first impressions review, we’re going to be taking a look at the Wolverine Airsoft x Genesis Arms GEN-12 MTW SBS from my friends over at BZ Tactical in Teeside, UK.

This isn't a standard airsoft shotgun. It's a fully licensed, HPA-powered shotgun built on Wolverine's legendary MTW platform, and by packing their proprietary multi-BB HAVOC HPA engine into a compact, aggressively styled AR-10 (.308) chassis.

The externals are a 1:1 collab with Genesis Arms, and it shows - a CNC-machined aluminium DPMS-style receiver set with a hard-wearing black oxide finish. The SBS configuration swaps the standard model's long barrel for a shortened outer barrel and a tactical 7" Invictus M-LOK rail, and the lower receiver is pre-cut for PDW stock compatibility.

Interally we’re looking at the HAVOC engine, which is fully HPA-powered. Every trigger pull delivers a tightly grouped spread of 6 BBs, and in full-auto or burst it cycles at up to 6 shots per second. That's 36 BBs downrange every second, which is absolutely insane.

It also features the Spartan Electronics Control Board with dedicated shotgun firmware, and it's got an electronic empty-magazine detection system so when your 140-round mag runs dry, the trigger drops dead until you pop a fresh mag in and rack the spring-loaded charging handle.

As it doesn't run on batteries or gas to get it up and running, you'll need:

• An HPA tank
• A low-pressure regulator (the Wolverine STORM Cat5 or equivalent)
• A HPA air line to connect your regulator to the grip line
• A small 7.4V micro LiPo battery to power the internal Spartan control board

The packaging the GEN-12 MTW SBS comes in is branded and sleek which is very on-brand for a Wolverine collab and on getting it out of the box, it’s very lightweight. Everything is sleek, well put together and feels sturdy. It does have an orange flash hider as standard but removing it was easy enough so I just popped that off and then got to setting it up.

Now this is pretty good on semi - it was consistent and quiet with responsive trigger pulls but full auto is where this really shines. 6 BBs per shot, per second on full auto. It was INSANELY fun to shoot and definitely took me by surprise. It has no recoil because its HPA but the sheer volume of BBs is fun.

AEG | RAVEN EVOLUTION NEO AKS74UM AEG!

In this first impressions review, we’re going to be taking a look at the Raven Evolution NEO AKS74UM AEG from my friends over at BZ Tactical.

From experience, a lot of (not all before anyone gets riled up!) the AK’s on the airsoft market are heavy and sluggish wood-and-steel things that aren’t very accessible to beginners or people new to the platform - this isn't that. The NEO takes the iconic, compact footprint of the shortened Russian classic and rebuilds it with durable lightweight polymer construction and modern internals. It weighs in at just 5lbs, which makes it properly agile for slicing corners, clearing rooms, and pivoting fast in intense CQB skirmishes.

Externally, we’re looking at a high-strength polymer body, a two-piece polymer handguard, and a rugged metal folding skeleton stock that is durable, but light enough to run all day without wearing you out. There's also a built-in side optic mount, so you can slide on an AK-style optic rail for a red dot or scope if you want to tart it up a little.

Internally, the standout feature on the NEO series is the integrated Electronic Trigger System (ETS). Where a lot of entry-level AEGs will burn out their trigger contacts, the NEO's ETS is built to handle 11.1v LiPo batteries. On the field, that translates to fast asf trigger response with a genuinely fast cyclic rate on full-auto, and reliability that holds up even during prolonged firing. It features a full metal V3 gearbox, 18:1 steel gears, 8mm ball bearings, and a 20,000 RPM motor. There's also a true quick-change spring system, so you can adapt to different site FPS limits in minutes without stripping the whole gearbox down. For accuracy, it runs a tight 6.03mm brass inner barrel with an adjustable slider-type hop-up, aimed at consistent, flat trajectories. It's pre-wired to Deans under the metal upper dust cover too, which keeps power efficiency up and resistance down.

It comes neatly presented in a cardboard replica box with an identifying sticker - I do wish it came in the branded boxes like the rest of the Raven range but for the price, that feels like a silly complaint. It’s very lightweight which is what stood out to me as soon as I removed it from the packaging and the materials used feel really sturdy. The stock is easy to deploy and stow and feels really solid.

One stand out feature that I really liked when I got this on the range was the battery compartment! In the Raven Evolution NEO AKS74UM there is a button on the dust cover that you press and the dust cover pops up and is hinged to keep it attached to the replica whilst you install the battery. The battery compartment is really roomy and there was no struggle to battery it up. The hinged dust cover made it really easy to put the battery in and close it up without any of the wiring snagging.

So, how does it shoot? For the price, I was pleasantly surprised. The trigger is snappy and very responsive, it sounds great on an 11.1 and it is consistent on semi and full-auto. It had a little bit of recoil and was very satisfying to shoot.

KIT | REBEL PRECISION LARGE TACTICAL HARD CASE REVIEW!

If you've sunk hundreds or, potentially thousands into your primary build, what case would you trust its safety with travelling to and from games? In this review, we’re going to be looking at the new Rebel Precision Large Hard Case, which I’ve been using since March 2026. They boast 40% denser materials than one of the UK's biggest-selling cases but how do they stack up after some use? Let’s chat.

Exterior-wise the Rebel Precision hard cases have everything you need: a sturdy handle, 4 heavy duty snap-closing clips, padlock ready points to keep your RIF locked up, a pressure valve, integrated wheels and an extra-wide case lip for structural integrity and added corner protection.

It's flight ready - fully IP67, RoHS, and CE rated, with an automatic pressure valve for air travel,. It’s got anti-moisture and anti-shock protection too, so whether it's a bumpy drive to an airsoft site (IYKYK) or a flight abroad, your rifle should come out the other end clean, dry, and ready to go.

As for the interior, you get the choice of Pick N Pluck or if you select Wave/Egg-Crate you also an underlay of Pick N Pluck. The PNP means that you can pull out pre-scored squares to build a form-fitting cradle around your specific setup - this does mean it is a dedicated hard case for that build which is important to consider if you have more than one set-up and Egg-Crate or Wave which is a high-compression foam that grips whatever you put in it. This is ideal if you're constantly swapping between different replicas. (Important to note that the PNP, ONLY comes with PNP!)

The Large Case has an internal space of 1040mm x 352mm x 130mm that can fit one standard M4/AR-15 carbine (e.g. 10.5" or 14.5" barrel) with optics, vertical grip, and 3-4 magazines, or an AK-74U or AK-105 with the stock folded, or one primary rifle and one sidearm side by side.

My first impressions were good. Everything about the case is chunky asf so they feel sturdy and dense. The clips feel hard wearing and snap close with a satisfying clunk and without any weight in the case the handle is comfortable. I went for the Egg-Crate/Wave foam option to get the best of both worlds as I tend to swap my primary out a fair bit. Loading it up, it comfortably fit my Wolverine 10.5” MTW Billet Series Unleashed, my Glock 42 in it’s Kydex CC holster, my RWA EXA RONIN and 3 Amarok M4 mags. Without anything in, the case is pretty weighty anyway because of how dense it is, and considerably heavier loaded up - which is where the wheels come in. The integrated wheels offer a smooth roll making transporting the case when it’s loaded up a none issue.

To prove the strength of the reinforced polymer shell, Rebel Precision drove a Land Rover Defender directly over the case, and it took the full weight of the vehicle without a single crack or seal failure - that’s the kind of stress test I can get behind, and I haven’t been able to top this.

There’s nothing I dislike about the case - it does exactly what it says it does and everything worked as intended. I’d love to see it in alternative colours but black is a classic. I think if you’re looking for a case packed with features that will keep your replica safe, whether it’s a starter AEG or something fancier like an MTW, this does the job and is priced reasonably.

GBB | B&T AIR GBB APC 9 SD COMPACT!

Today I have another first impressions review for you, and in this one we're taking a look at the fully licensed Archwick B&T Air GBB APC 9 SD Compact from BZ Tactical.

The APC series itself was originally designed for the demands of modern police forces, special forces, and military units, and has since become B&T's flagship line. Boasting reliable performance, and accuracy, with a huge suite of accessories built that have been specifically around the platform.

Officially licensed by B&T, this Archwick airsoft replica has been built to match the real thing, right down to the engraved markings. It has a precision CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminium upper receiver, handguard, mock suppressor and bolt, all finished in a milspec Type III hard anodised finish. The outer barrel is made from a durable steel with a tri-lug flash hider. You've also got a full-length top 1913 Picatinny/20mm rail that has plenty of room for lights, lasers, optics, whatever you want to run.It comes fitted with a side-folding polymer stock and a 75mm single stage suppressor. The handguard has 3 full M-LOK slots and 1 half slot, and honestly it's an extremely comfortable grip in hand. It's also been widened to integrate the suppression setup, which is a nice touch rather than just bolting a mock can on the front. The polymer stock gives you a genuinely solid cheek weld, and the gun measures 42cm folded, 54cm extended, so it stays nice and manageable when you need it compact.

Internally, it runs a TDC direct pressure hop-up unit with a Tokyo Marui MWS-spec bucking, which should mean a properly consistent shot cycle if you're used to that ecosystem. The Internals are also made from CNC-machined S45C steel.

The Archwick B&T Air GBB APC 9 SD Compact comes nicely presented in a branded B&T box and feels sturdy in hand when you get it out of the box. The construction materials used feel of high quality as well. There’s no rattle or movement either.

So now we’ve discussed how the build and the internals, how does it perform? Snappy asf are the only words I can use to describe this! The trigger was really responsive and the recoil took me by surprise - it’s not crazy recoil but it was definitely more than I expected. As for consistency, it performed well with no missed shots or vents - the conditions on the day were pretty perfect GBB weather. You can check out my rangetest here

I think overall, the Archwick B&T APC9K-SD performs beautifully and it definitely took me by surprise so if you’re looking for a fun GBB to run, this definitely fits the bill. However, I’m not a huge fan of the aesthetics of this one - the front end is quite short and I don’t like how the magwell looks oversized compared to the mag itself - I think if the magwell was more flush to the mag, this would elevate the look in my humble opinion.
