EVENT | AIRSOFT EXPO 2019!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have another event report for you, and this time we’ll be looking at the Airsoft Expo 2019 - an event held at Airsoft Megastore in Santa Fe Springs by Lancer Tactical and Modern Airsoft.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with these companies, here’s a little info on the organisers:

Airsoft Megastore is one of the fastest-growing Airsoft retailers in North America and is headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, Southern California. Their HQ is a fully-stocked 67,000 sq. ft warehouse and adjacent office complex, which they’ve strategically located less than half a mile from a central UPS package distribution/processing hub for Southern California meaning their service is speedy.

Lancer Tactical is an Airsoft brand that has been around since 2012 and offers affordable, budget-friendly products for airsofters. Their product line consists of quality AEG Airsoft guns, as well as tactical gear.

Modern Airsoft was born in 2016 with the opening of it’s Oceanside retail store. Their corporate office and distribution centre is located in sunny San Diego County, California. Since opening in 2016 they’ve been a leading store in the USA, expanding to new physical stores, their large online store and even airsoft fields. They currently have 2 Airsoft sites - Modern Airsoft Park at Camp Pendleton and Modern Airsoft Alpine.

On the 28th September 2019, my friends at Modern Airsoft and Lancer Tactical invited myself and a few content creators to their Airsoft Expo event. This was my first time attending this event, and it’s a collaboration between retailers/brands to help grow the US airsoft community. It’s a similar format to AirsoftCon (held by evike.com) The event took place at the Airsoft Megastore location in Santa Fe and we saw retailers/brands set-up booths to showcase their products, there was a main stage playing music and this was also the base for giveaways and the influencer panel.

At the Expo we saw Insidious Armory who were showing off some of their custom Hi-Capa builds, Hollywood Sports Park, Project N1, ANM Customs, Airsoft Master, Airsoft Extreme, Classic Army, Airsoft GI, Echo 1, Extreme Tronics, Tokyo Marui, G&G, Elite Force, GHK, Modern Airsoft, Emerson Gear showcasing some of their new gear, Brain Exploder Creations was onsite with his 3D printed Go Pro mounts and answering any questions airsofters had regarding starting to record their gameplay, LCT Airsoft, Lancer Tactical and KWA Airsoft. It was a really good mix of retailers and brands!

Tac City Airsoft was also onsite running Nerf battles and archery tag. We all gave the Nerf and archery tag a good go and it was SUCH a laugh! I’ve never played archery tag before and only learned how to use a bow and arrow this year so it was interesting! I didn’t get smacked in the face with one though, so can’t complain!

Influencer panel was one of the highlights of the event for me, the panel included Dayton from House Gamers, Mark from Brain Exploder, Scott from US Airsoft, myself and Demoee from SYG. The influencer panel gave the attendees chance to ask content creators and YouTubers questions. It was a great opportunity for us to interact with the community! My favourite question was a young dude asking Demoee if he was going to sell his bath water! It was nice to see a guy get the weird questions for a change!

Over the course of the day Airsoft Megastore gave away over 160 airsoft guns and other prizes including game days and yearly passes to the airsoft fields in attendance.

Overall, I think this was a great event for the US Airsoft community! It was great to see both retailers and manufacturers come together to help grow the community. I personally love events where the community get to interact with brands and stores because it gives airsofters a chance to ask questions, see new products and get the low down on what they can expect from their favourite brands and retailers in the coming year. It was fun to meet so many of the community and try out the activities and also AWESOME to see so many win prizes in the raffle. Keep up the good work Airsoft Expo! I can’t wait for the next one!
