PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | NAMES NICCO!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have another player spotlight for you and this time we'll be chatting to Names Nicco.

How long have you been playing Airsoft? What originally got you into it?

I’ve been playing airsoft for around 2.5 years. I stumbled across airsoft gameplay videos on YouTube when I was leaving the Army and I was hooked from the beginning.

What’s your playing style?

I just like gettin’ stuck in don’t I? CQB and fast aggressive play are my go-tos.

Are you a woodland player? CQB fan? Or do you like to mix it up?

I like to mix it up, as there’s always new products, new sites and new events to try. I don’t wanna be a stale dale so I like to try all of what airsoft has to offer.

What can we see you running on the field? (Favourite pieces of kit)

You can see me running either my upgraded TM 416 Delta or the Novritsch SSG10 A1 as my primary, for my side-arm I’m running the Vorsk Hi-Capa and TRMRs are OP.

What’s your most memorable event?

MilSim West: Uzbeck Insurrection at George Air Force Base in California. I literally loved every second of it. The insurgency series is unlike any other airsoft game I’ve played.

Is there any advice you can give to other players out there?

Be confident, push forward. Back yourself.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | EAGLE_03_ADAM

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have another player spotlight for you and this time we'll be chatting to Adam from Eagle Eye Airsoft!

How long have you been playing Airsoft? What originally got you into it?

I have been playing airsoft for around 2 and a half years now, I used to play several years ago with local mates but came back to the sport in 2018!

What’s your playing style?
Fast, assaulter, getting stuck in wherever possible, not afraid to get amongst it

3. Are you a woodland player? CQB fan? Or do you like to mix it up?

I absolutely love a bit of CQB. Communication and working alongside my team works brilliantly at CQB sites. I also love to snipe at outdoor sites and have recently acquired a KMCS (Kicking Mustang Consealment System) ghillie suit which im going to be testing out at some point and building a leaf rig up too. I often mix it up, I enjoy both style of play equally.

What can we see you running on the field? (Favourite pieces of kit)

I often run my Tokyo Marui MK18 along with my Tokyo Marui Glock 22. I run in either Crye Multicam, Black or AOR1. Running either a Crye SPC or a TMC Micro Fighter Rig. FRV Tailoring Shooters Belt, Saloman Speedcross4 shoes, Team Wendy Exfil Helmet with Peltor XP’s. That would be my favourite set up.

What’s your most memorable event?
My most memorable moment would be the Rift Sim from 2019 at The Devils Pit. The whole of my team attended the event, small numbers, brilliantly run, great taskings & IC’s. The weather was really hot & had a lot of NVG time running as a squad, great sportsmanship all around and was a really good event.

Is there any advice you can give to other players out there?

Enjoy yourself. Buy what you want. Wear what you want. It’s all about sportsmanship & having a laugh! If you get into airsoft properly then you’ll find yourself spending a lot of money on airsoft kit & guns but it’s a hobby we all love.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | DUSTMONKEY APPAREL!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have another player spotlight for you, and this time it's on Callum from Dust Monkey Apparel! I first noticed Dust Monkey Apparel on Instagram after Callum posted a really unique Post Apocalyptic loadout and have been a follower ever since. His loadouts are some of the best I've seen on the gram.

Thanks for taking part in the FFA player spotlights! Can you tell my readers how long you have been playing Airsoft? What originally got you into it?

I have been playing now for going on…19 years…. Which is a really long time when I think back on when I started.

I had a friend at school who had a room, a literal room, in his house full of airsoft guns, and he’d invite a group of us round and we would have these skirmishes in his, rather oversized garden. That got me hooked, back then it was Wolf Armouries or import directly from Asia. My first ever gun was the original TM ak47, almost all my first guns were TM, to be honest.

What’s your playing style?

I am not sure I have a style per se, I tend to lean towards the more niche aspects of airsoft. Vietnam events, Post Apoc events, etc. I do still do the odd milsim but I love any excuse to put together a really unique loadout. Post Apoc and Nam are both great genres to put loadouts together for. I have also built full-blown sci-fi and cyberpunk loadouts as well, so yeh the trend here is unusual.

Are you a woodland player? CQB fan? Or do you like to mix it up?

I like both, but to be honest, I am a bit bored of generic woodland sites, I prefer sites that are unique and offer something unusual.

What can we see you running on the field? (Favourite pieces of kit)

It truly depends on my mood on the day, if I am rocking up to a Sunday skirmish right now it will likely be one of my Russian impressions either my VDV loadout or my Escape from Tarkov PMC kit. I love Russian gear so all my none weird and wonderful loadouts are Russian.

What’s your most memorable event?

Without a shadow of a doubt, it's two, one historic and one I go to every year. The historic one is the first-ever Distant Thunder event, it was my first large-sized event, camo rules for the 4 sides, civ pop, ammo limits, well-communicated missions throughout each day. It was just an amazing dabble into what airsoft can be when it wants to.

My current love is Blodsband Reloaded ( BBR) in Sweden, it’s a 3-day Neverland if you are into post apoc. An enormous sandbox on a site so large vehicles are hugely beneficial ( and yes all vehicles look right out of Mad Max)

The community over in Sweden is something else, everyone is so helpful and welcoming.

Is there any advice you can give to other players out there?

Don’t feel you have to follow the trends, want to do a weird and wonderful loadout.. do it.. who cares, it's your fun after all. I think there is a tendency to take airsoft way too seriously and remembering that most of us started out to simply have fun is never a bad thing.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | UNDEADFRED12!

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog!

Today I'm reviving series of blog posts that haven't been seen on the blog since early 2017 - the player spotlights. The community has changed SO much in the last 2 years that I felt like it was time these posts made a comeback. Here you can learn more about content creators and players making a difference in the community. First up in the newest series of player spotlights is @undeadfred12. I started following Undead's account in 2014, just after I started playing and met him for the first time on my first visit to the United States in 2017. This SoCal airsoft player is passionate about the game, plays hard and to win.

How long have you been playing Airsoft? What originally got you into it?

I've playing airsoft now for about 10 years. My neighbor and his son went to our local field regularly and my stepdad had asked about it and brought me along with them one Sunday to try it. out. It was such a rush the first time playing, I ended up really liking it and asking to go with them regularly, they let me use their gear until I saved up to buy my own rifle and eventually from there I became more and more passionate about airsoft and it’s turned into something back then I’d never in a million years believe would be possible.

What’s your playing style?

I like to stay adaptable, usually whatever the task at hand dictates. I used to just be super fast but since injuring my knee it’s forced me to slow things down a little, but I like this new perspective as it’s a challenge but it’s the experience I gain from it that matters I feel.

Are you a woodland player? CQB fan? Or do you like to mix it up?

Woodland if I had to pick one! I do enjoy airsoft anywhere though. CQB is fun and fast-paced but I really enjoy nature so it’s awesome to be outdoors cause it’s like hiking and camping with friends but you get to shoot each other lol

What can we see you running on the field?

Gloves I’d say are mando with any kit, it’s simple but an important part. I’m learning more and more that they are often overlooked, but I’m kind of a glove geek. I’m always changing and trying different ones also I blow through them pretty rapidly 😅 You can see me rocking my 'face' as I call it (skull mask) it started as just something I thought was cool as I’ve always had a thing for masks ever since I was little, but now it’s really become a part of me and holds a lot of sentimental value to me.

What’s your most memorable event?

This one is a tough one because there’s so many, but my favorites definitely would have to be every Uprising/frostbite at Hill559! That field really has a place in my heart, every op I’ve done there has been a unique and memorable experience for me with the best people I have the privilege of calling my close friends. Also DesertFox events are my one of my favorites because it’s like a big reunion as everyone is all in one place and it’s just the best time ever and definitely something I now look forward to every year.

Is there any advice you can give to other players out there?

Drink water! and just have fun! Airsoft is an experience and meant to be enjoyed, make memories with your friends as life is short. What I found myself doing was worrying about irl stuff while I’m at airsoft which makes it not an escape like it’s meant to be, airsoft is your individual experience and what you make of it, that’s why I love it the freedom to choose to be whatever you want to be and I firmly believe in self-expression and being true to yourself.
