PENTAGON ARTAXES SOFTSHELL REVIEW!

Hey everyone!

This is a review you guys have been waiting for, for a while and I've only just got round to writing it - shameful I know! Back in 2015 I brought a Pentagon Artaxes Soft Shell jacket in wolf grey and it's still going strong. I've had a lot of questions over the last couple of years so I thought I would give y’all the low down on my go-to winter soft shell for airsoft.

The Pentagon Artaxes Soft Shell is a multi-functional soft shell jacket that is the most comfortable soft shell I have worn whilst playing airsoft. It has a two-way full front zipper (which admittedly was a little tricky to use at first with it being new) and a high collar that protects your neck from the elements and includes a chin guard of grid fleece for extra comfort. The collar also conceals a large foldable and adjustable cobra-style hood that is lined with a warm grid fleece.  It has reinforced elbows, adjustable hook and loop cuffs which give you a close fit around the wrists.

The jacket is laden with pockets – eight in total! The Artaxes Soft Shell has pockets placed on the chest that include wiring eyelets, device slots and hood adjusters, both sleeves (featuring upper arm zipper pockets with external Velcro) and lower back, that are all lined with either mesh or grid fleece. The inner lining of the jacket is a super fine Grid-Tech fleece that offers the wearer both excellent thermal protection and body moisture management (definitely needed in a game of airsoft!) as it traps the heat inside whilst allowing any moisture to escape freely. Its’ outer layer is made from a breathable and water-resistance (not waterproof) Storm|Tex membrane that makes the jacket a solid choice for mild to cold weather.

One of my favourite features of the soft shell is the ventilation zippers, they are fab! It sounds grim but when you’ve been playing for a few hours in it and you start to get sweaty, there’s nothing better than opening the zippers and feeling a breeze!

Now the Pentagon Artaxes softshell is available in a great variety of colours – Wolf grey, Black, Coyote, Navy, Olive Green, Grindle Green, Red and Pentacamo so whatever loadout you run there is an option for you. I wear my wolf grey softshell with my MultiCam and M81 loadouts. They are available in an x-small to an xxx-large. They are true to size, I wear a women's size 8-10 on my top half and I opted for the size small. It is quite a long line jacket.

They are available from a few different retailers and the price does vary but they are usually priced between £85-90. I purchased mine from Amazon for £88.50 here.
